Descendants of Pvt. William Clayton Hennessee gathered July 15, 2023, to donate a replica of his World War I Marine uniform to the Veterans Museum of White County.
Pvt. Hennessee was one of two White County soldiers for which the American Legion Hennessee Baker Post #99 was named. Joe Baker was the other. Both men were shot and died from their wounds in the Argonne Forest Battle, and both are buried in France.
The Veterans Museum would like to thank the family for their donation and give a special thanks to David Graham, husband of Joan Hennessee Graham, for acquiring the uniform, helmet and the components to make it complete.
