Human remains found in Putnam County

Skeletal remains believed to be Perry Isaac Bowman

Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris is saddened to announce as to what is believed to be most likely the skeletal remains of the missing person, Perry Isaac Bowman.

According to a press release issued by the Putnam County Sheriff's Offiice. The remains were found in the morning hours on Dec. 28, 2022. The remains were initially located in the southern part of Putnam County, in a wooded area near Bethlehem Church of Christ, by residents who are local firefighters and live in the area.

Bowman, 35 years of age, was a Baxter resident who was reported missing Dec. 1, 2022, by his father who stated that he had not spoken to his son since Sept. 23, 2022.

Bowman’s remains have been sent to the State Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsy.

Sheriff Eddie Farris stated, “Since Bowman was reported missing on Dec. 1st, our investigators have been working tirelessly in attempting to locate Bowman. This is not the outcome we hoped for. I ask that you keep the Bowman family in your thoughts and prayers.”

This is an ongoing investigation, and no further information can be given at this time.
