James Edward Chapman passed from this life, on March 29, 2025, at his home, with a loving family by his side.
He was born Nov. 15, 1934, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky, to James Bernard Chapman and Ella Lee Stamper Chapman.
James served his country in the United States Navy, stationed in California.
Together, James and his wife, Mona Faye, created a life they loved. James worked as a plastic fabricator specializing in sign making, in Las Vegas, Nevada, for many years.
In 2018, the Chapmans moved to Sparta, Tennessee.
James will be missed also by his dogs, Gracie and Penny, who brought so much joy to his life.
James was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Jesse Chapman; and one sister, Wanda Colbert.
He is survived by his wife, Mona Faye Chapman, whom he married Nov. 26, 1954, in San Bernardino, California; two sons, Keith Chapman (Charlotte), of Roy, Washington, Kenny Chapman (Anna), of Henderson, Nevada; two daughters, Marie Chapman, of Oklahoma, Maxine Chapman, of Sparta; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Glenn Chapman and wife Billie, of Sparta.
Honoring his wishes, the family has chosen cremation and will not be having a service at this time.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
