James Kenneth Robinson, 78, of Sparta, passed away suddenly, on May 18, 2023, at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital, in Sparta.
He was born Jan. 24, 1945, in Monterey, the son of Fred and Lula Reeves Robinson.
In addition to his parents, Kenneth was preceded in death by his brothers, Talmadge Robinson and Edward Robinson.
Kenneth served our country in the National Guard. He was a member of the White County School Board for the past 22 years. He was also the vice-president for the Good Time Cruisers Car Club. He was a lifelong cattleman, farmer, carpenter, and a mechanic. Kenneth was a lifelong resident of White County.
Surviving family members include his wife of 59 years, Thelma Jean Golden Robinson; sons, James Kevin Robinson, Timothy Shane Robinson; grandson, James Timothy Robinson; and sister, Loretta Robinson Elrod and husband Teddy.
Funeral service was noon, May 23, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Thomas McCulley officiated.
Pallbearers were Jay Robinson, Jr. Jones, Sam Tayes, Billy Graham, Jason McDonald, and Dewayne Hutchings.
Honorary pallbearers included members of the Good Time Cruisers Club.
Memorial donations can be made to the Old Zion Cemetery fund.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
