Janet Lynn Boatman Ashford, 60, of Smithville, passed away June 13, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Ashford was born Nov. 14, 1960, to Larry Austin and Emma Elaine Tipton Boatman.
She worked for over 13 years in housekeeping at Evins Mill Retreat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Randy Boatman.
Mrs. Ashford leaves to cherish her memory her husband, James Ashford, of Smithville; four children, Michelle Hume, of Sparta, Chris Myers, of Sparta, Melissa Edmonds (Neal Young), of Smithville, Kimberly (Jeremy) Reedy, of Woodbury; nine grandchildren, Gidean, Gabriel, and Gaige Hume, Austin and Justin Myers, Makayla, Matthias and Raivah Reedy, and Jackson Ashford; two stepchildren, Alicia Curtis, Ricky Ashford Jr.; three brothers, Larry "Eddie" Boatman, of Pleasant View, Carl "Toby" Harris, of Mississippi, Jonathan "Scott" Brasfield, of Sparta; and two sisters, Laura Archer, of Arkansas, Tammy Jenkins, of Mississippi.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., June 17, 2021, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel, in Smithville. Bro. Dan Gulley will officiate. Graveside service will be 3 p.m., June 17, at Hilltop Cemetery. Visitation will be 9-11 a.m., June 17, at the funeral chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Janet.
DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
