John Wesley Brandenburg, 60, of Sparta, passed away Jan. 5, 2021, at Saint Thomas River Park Hospital, in McMinnville.
Mr. Brandenburg was Dec. 8, 1960, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Gaylord Brandenburg and Mary Anderson Brandenburg.
He was a great man who loved deeply and was loved deeply by his family and friends. He married the love of his life, his blushing bride, Donna Baby, of 41 years, and what an adventure it was! He loved God, his country, and his family. John was a retired U.S. Navy veteran of 18 years. He was a devoted husband, dad, and poppa, who will be greatly missed. Now he is walking with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. Until we meet again.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include wife, Donna Marie Brandenburg, of Sparta; sons,
Joe Brandenburg (Becky), of North Carolina, Bryan Brandenburg (Nicole), of Crossville; daughter, Marrisa Horton (Chad), of Florida; grandchildren, Shannon Horton, Chad Horton Jr., Logan Wesley Horton, Joseph Brandenburg Jr., Gavin Wesley Brandenburg, Thomas Wesley Brandenburg, Rylee Brandenburg, Jael Brandenburg, Sadie Brandenburg, Micaiah Brandenburg, Josiah Brandenburg; Nada Matthai (Joel); brother, Karl Brandenburg (Cherie); mother-in-law, Evelyn Altilio; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, friends, and neighbors.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Jan. 9, 2021, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with Joe Brandenburg officiating. Full military honors will be presented by the Veterans' Honor Guard. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will welcome friends 9:30-11 a.m., Jan. 9, at the funeral home.
