Joshua Austin Rowan, 22, formerly of Sparta, passed away Aug. 10, 2020, at his home in Cookeville.
Joshua was born Dec. 23, 1997, in Charleston, West Virginia. He was a remarkable athlete. He played basketball, football, baseball, track, and soccer for White County High School.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Ruth Rowan, of Sparta;
siblings, Cody Rowan, Alyssa Belderas, Damon Brown, Dorian Brown, Renee Brown; special friend, Hannah Gillin; aunts, Frances Brown, Cherrie Brown, Tina Lacey (Damon); uncle, Stewart Mitchell; great-uncle, Bernard Bannister; great-aunt, Sarah Bannister; and many cousins.
Josh was loved by many friends, fellow students, and athletes.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Aug. 14, 2020, at Oak Lawn Funeral home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Glenn Leftwich will officiate. The family will receive friends 11 a.m.-2 p.m., Aug. 14, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers to serve will be Keshion Conaway, Kendrick Leftwich, Dakota Kubeca, Spencer Young, Trey Brewington, Chris Richmond, and Kevin Wright
Flower girls to serve will be Deserea Caraway, Izabella Henson, Tia Leftwich, Alexis Rutledge, Keesha Williams, and Mackendra Tubbs.
