Eva Joyce Green Armstrong, 82, of Sparta, passed away Dec. 8, 2024, at her residence.
Joyce was born Jan. 6, 1942, in Beersheba Springs, Tennessee, to Charlie Ray and Alma Gertrude King Green.
She was retired from Red Kap. In her earlier years, she enjoyed crocheting. Her passion in life was being Granny Toad or Nanny Toad to her family and everyone gathering at her home for the holidays. Joyce was a lifetime member of the Church of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Dean “Toad” Armstrong; her son, David Kevin Armstrong, who died Nov. 27, 2024; grandson, Shane Armstrong; great-grandchildren, Alana Martin, Kayleigh Armstrong; sister, Faye Dukes; and brother, Charles Green.
Survivors include her sons and their spouses, Jeff and Teresa Armstrong, of Lafollette, Wendell and Connie Armstrong, of Quebeck, Tim and Diane Armstrong, of Sparta, Jason and Darlene Armstrong, of Spencer; daughter-in-law, Shelia Armstrong; 22 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister, Elise Hall; and brother, Bobby Ray Green.
Funeral service was 1 p.m., Dec. 11, 2024, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Anderson Cemetery. Danny Rogers and Tommy Burke officiated.
Robbie Armstrong, Wayne Rogers, Issac Brown, Steven Armstrong, Jacob Sparkman, Noah Armstrong, Brady Williams, and Aaron Armstrong served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
