Joyce Marie Green, 68, of Sparta, passed away May 30, 2023, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, in Nashville.
Joyce was born Feb. 4, 1955, in Sparta, to Ernest Green and Beulah Mae Presley Green.
She retired with 25 years of service to the White County Middle School cafeteria. She loved her work and enjoyed spending her free time at home working in her flower garden. She could be found on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings listening to gospel music and the ministry on WSMT-AM 1050. Joyce adored her nieces and nephews who were like her children.
Survivors include her sisters, Nina Young, Sandra Zile and her significant other, Timothy Wheeler; brothers, Roger Green, Tommy Green, Jimmy Green; special nieces, nephews, and caregivers, William Alex (Mary) Zile Jr., Reed (Amber) Zile, Mirranda Zile, Tony Dimler; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Funeral service was 3 p.m., June 2, 2023, at Hunter Funeral Home, with burial in Highland Cemetery. Gary Lovett officiated.
Alex Zile, Reed Zile, Dustin Green, Stevie Seibers, and Chris Green served as pallbearers.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
