Larry Fred “Pop” Kirby, 71, of Walling, passed away at home, on May 16, 2025, while surrounded by family.
Born July 9, 1953, in Akron, Ohio, he was the son of Bobbie Kirby and Frances Carter Kirby.
Pop was proud of the 21 years he served his country in the U.S. Army as a unit supply specialist. After retiring from the service, Pop dedicated 12 more years at Tennessee Technological University in the payroll and supplies departments.
In addition to his parents, Pop was preceded in death by a grandchild, Jakelyn Reed, and brothers, Robert Kirby, Henry Kirby, and Johnny Kirby.
Surviving are children, Sabrina (Joe) Reed, of Walling, Bryan (Brooke) Kirby, Brandi Kirby, Jennifer M. Kirby; grandchild, Kyle Reed; brother, Don (Hai-Hong) Kirby, of Washington; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and dear friends, James and Kenya Brown.
The family is following Pop’s wishes to be cremated.
Oak Lawn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
