Larry Ray Roberts, 70, of Sparta, passed away July 24, 2022, at Centennial Medical Center, in Nashville.

Larry was born Feb. 5, 1952, in Putnam County, to Ray Lewis Roberts and Rose Marie Tabors Roberts.

He worked in maintenance for Perdue, in Monterey, for 30 years. As an antique tractor pulling enthusiast, he competed in several county fairs as well as out-of-state competitions. In addition, Larry enjoyed camping, gardening, and farming. He was an active member of Pistole Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kenneth and Ann Griffin.

Surviving family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 50 years, Sharion Roberts; two daughters, Stephanie Roberts Miller, Kendra Roberts; sister, Patrena Hicks and husband Robin; nephews, Chase (Kacie) Hicks, Kyle (Shauna) Hicks, Logan (Morgan) Hicks; and great-nieces and great-nephews, Cameron, Kinley, Knox, and Haley

Funeral service was 11 a.m., July 29, 2022, at Pistole Baptist Church, with burial in Saylors Cemetery. Clint Walker and Harlen Simmons officiated.

Chase Hicks, Kyle Hicks, Logan Hicks, Adam Stafford, Jonathan Hutson, Marty Usrey, Jeff Sliger, and Eddie Rector served as pallbearers.

Honorary pallbearers were Lynn Hickey, Donald Huff, Chris King, David Roberts, Stanton Nash, Darrell Jackson, and Dale Robinson.

Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
