Liberty Square Lofts is open

Each space designed around an outdoor theme

Sparta’s newest place to stay officially opened its doors July 25. The Liberty Square Lofts, located above the old Sparta Office Supplies building, at 18 Liberty Square, will offer visitors and those just traveling through a choice of four newly-renovated apartment-style spaces to spend a few nights.

“Each space is designed around an outdoor theme as Sparta is in the middle of so many beautiful state parks and a throughway to a lot of outdoor adventure,” property manager Amy Lou Gentry said.

Liberty Square Lofts boasts two loft-style spaces in the front of the building with windows overlooking historic Liberty Square. The Grotto loft, which has a cave theme that includes photographs from local caver Jim Fox, and the Overlook Suite, whose trail and hiking theme is complemented by extra windows along Maple Street.

“The Overlook Suite is our most feminine-feeling suite and definitely has the best natural light,” Gentry explained. “It would be perfect for a ‘day of’ booking. It would provide perfect lighting and a great backdrop for photos of a bridal party as they are getting ready.”

Liberty Square Lofts also houses two larger spaces in the back of the building, each with separate living and sleeping quarters. The Peloton Suite, with a cycling theme, and the Caney Suite, with a river theme.

Each unit, both the loft style spaces and the larger spaces, comes with its own modern kitchen with full amenities, a living space, bathroom, bed and sleeper sofa, and secure keyless entry are available immediately for short-term rentals.

“We are totally open to renting to those who might need to stay a little longer as well,” Gentry added. “Traveling nurses, other professionals who may need to stay here locally for a couple of months, we will be happy to accommodate those individuals.”

While each space has been completely renewed, the original architecture of the building was preserved, and the original brick and hardwood flooring was exposed, tying the past in with the future and providing a tranquil feeling to the building.

The original fire door that separated the two space between the original two buildings that made up the Sparta Office Supplies print shop and show room was kept and a small tribute to the previous owners, Don and Rita Pearson was put in the hall that separates the lofts.

To book one space or even all four spaces of the Liberty Square Lofts, Gentry encouraged patrons to use airbandb.com or simply visit their website libertysquarelofts.com and fill out the contact form.
