Linda Carolyn Bohannon Smith, of Nashville, passed away peacefully at home, on June 7, 2022.

She was the daughter of Rufus Bohannon and Lorine Broome Bohannon who preceded her in death.

She was born Sept. 11, 1944, in Sparta, and attended elementary school in BonDeCroft, graduated from White County High School in 1962, and attended two years of college at MTSC in Murfreesboro.

She began her married life, in Nashville, as a stay-at-home wife and mother until the children were all in school, then decided to enter the work force. She enjoyed several years of working in the children’s department at Castner-Knott, in Donelson, then at Moore Business Forms, then at Suntrust Bank Operations Center until retirement in 2004.

She loved music, played the piano, and enjoyed going to concerts, especially Johnny Mathis (at least 15 times). She enjoyed her flowers and ‘digging in the dirt’ as she called it.  She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking, at which she was very good.

After retiring she became an active member of the Stones River   Woman’s Club, serving as an officer and committee chairman.  She was a longtime member of the Church of Christ, mostly at Donelson over the last 55 years.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, R. E. Bohannon, James Clinton Bohannon, and Robert Oran Bohannon, and one sister, Anna Ruth Bohannon Cooper.

She is survived by her husband, Lloyd F. Smith; daughter, Lori Ann (Smith) Corbitt and husband William; son, Richard Lynn Smith and wife Vickie; daughter Kristen Carol (Smith) Craig and husband Steven; five grandchildren, Ashley Corbitt Allen and husband Dayton, Justin Smith and wife Rachell, Haley Smith Stacey and husband Blake, Wade Craig, and Sean Craig; three great-grandchildren, Colton and Amberley Smith, and Wyatt Stacey; several nieces, nephews, and cousin; one sister-in-law, Bill Bohannon; and one aunt, Rebecca Groves.

A private family burial service was 11 a.m., June 11, 2022, at Highland Cemetery, in Sparta. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m., July 9, 2022, at Donelson Church of Christ, in Nashville. Visitation with the family will be prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in her name to the Donelson Church of Christ or to the charity of your choice.
