Lori Zimmerman, 61, of Sparta, passed from this life, on Jan. 13, 2023, at her home, in Sparta.
She was born July 18, 1961, in Chillicothe, Ohio, to Alford and Nancy Horsley.
Lori married the love of her life, George Zimmerman Jr., on Oct. 29, 2006, in Punta Gorda, Florida. They retired to the Big Bottom community of Sparta, in 2011.
Lori was a lover of animals, especially all her "fur" babies. She enjoyed collecting cow-print items. She also enjoyed her career as a CNA while living in Ohio. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alfred Horsley Jr. and Donald Horsley.
Surviving family members include her husband, George Zimmerman Jr.; stepchildren, Jessi Kamer, Samantha Zimmerman, both of Florida, George Zimmerman III, of Sparta; grandchildren, Serenity Zimmerman, of Florida, Norah Zimmerman, Arlo Zimmerman, both of Sparta; brother, Robert Horsley, of Algood; aunts, Helen Roberts, of Kentucky, Jenny Bethel, of Ohio; uncles, Ted Horsley, Ben Powell, both of Utah; cousins, Kim Waldridge (David), of Kentucky, and many others; niece, Amy Simpson (Clifford) and children, of Algood; nephews, Allen Horsley, of Sparta, Chad Horsley (Janie), Donnie Horsley (Mellisa), Arron Horsley, all of Ohio; and special friends, Cathy, Debbie, Ed, Memom, and Jodi.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Jan. 28, 2023, at Frasier’s Chapel United Methodist Church, on Big Bottom Rd., in Sparta. Pastor Al Schieber will officiate. A reception will immediately follow at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution can be made to White County Animal Shelter.
