Lynda L Matthews, 83, passed away Jan. 7, 2025, at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Lynda was born Dec. 26, 1941, in Harriman, to Carl and Pearl Goss.
Lynda held several positions in the workforce, ending with in-house auditor for a gas and oil company and operated by the Bread Box food stores where she retired.
Lynda was preceded in death by parents; brother, Jerry Edward Goss; grandmother, Flora Lee Robinson; and grandparents, Zack and Lillie Belle Goss.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura (Brian) Everett, of Sparta; grandchildren, Jack Everett, Eva Everett, of Sparta; brother, Steve (Carole) Goss, of Clinton; sister-in-law, Peggy Goss, of Clinton; nephews, Justin (Manda) Goss, of Knoxville, Ryan Goss, of Alaska, Tennessee; nieces, Melody Ashlee, of Oliver Springs, Amber (Andres) Garcia, of Atlanta, Georgia; two great-nieces, one great-nephew; extended family, Wayne and Judith, Sandra, Diane, Bradley, Kim and family; and best friends, Darlene, Phyllis, Minnie, Carlene, Marie, and Shelly.
Funeral service was 4 p.m., Jan. 9, 2025, at Thurman Funeral Home. Bro. Bryce officiated. Graveside service was 11 a.m. EST, Jan. 10, 2025, at Oak Grove Cemetery, in Rockwood.
Thurman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
