Malcolm Lynn Jessup, 70, passed away Oct. 3, 2020, at Saint Thomas Midtown Hospital, in Nashville.

Mr. Jessup was born Feb. 4, 1950, in Greenville, Kentucky, to James Jessup and Virginia Ford Jessup.

         He was a member of the Welchland Baptist Church and the Mule Skinners’ Association.  He was a jammer at the Orange Blossom Opry, Morgan’s Music Junction, Barb’s Barn, and Peggy and Carl’s Opry.  Mr. Jessup was a legendary mule man. He was in the movie, The Green Mile, plus seven other movies with his mules.  His band, the Tennessee Mule Train, played in France, and he sold mules all over the world and was known just about any place he visited.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Jackie Jessup, Leroy Jessup, Bruce Jessup, Norman Jessup; and sisters, Jeanetta Maddox and Wanda Sue Anderson

         He is survived by his wife, Laura Jones Jessup; son, Malcolm L.   Jessup Jr., of Owensboro, Kentucky; daughters, Kim (Kevin) McKinney, of Beachmont, Kentucky, Krista Butcher, of Spencer, Angie (Haskell) Myers, of Spencer; sisters, Cloetta (Mitch) Kinkade, of Greenville, Kentucky, Joyce Ann Baldree, of Los Angeles, California; brothers, Gerald (Sandy) Jessup, of Greenville, Kentucky, T.K. (Beverly) Jessup, of Morgantown Kentucky, Robert Jessup, of Morgantown, Kentucky, David (Barbara) Jessup, of Graham, Kentucky; grandchildren, Amber Fisher, Ashley Hankins, Tyler McKinney, Rowan Jessup, Luke Richards, Justin Butcher; great-grandchildren, Easton, Elaine, Cason; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Oct. 9, 2020, at Gary’s Funeral Home, in Greenville, Kentucky, with burial to follow in Vernal Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, in Depoy, Kentucky, with military honors. Visitation with the family will be 5-8 p.m., Oct. 8, and 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Oct. 9, at Gary’s Funeral Home, in Greenville, Kentucky.
