Mark Frasier resigns as WCHS Warrior head football coach

Mark Frasier builds things. It is who he is.  He makes sure he has a good plan.  He brings good people around him.  He works hard to build homes that any homeowner would be proud of.  In the last four years, Coach Frasier has poured himself into another type of building project.  He has sacrificed countless hours, taking time away from his own business and family to help “rebuild” the White County football program.  Frasier took over a program that had lost 24 straight games.  In the two seasons before he became coach, the Warriors had scored a total of 81 points. This year the Warriors scored 498 points, including 113 in seven days against good competition.  The Warriors went 9-3 and won a playoff game for the first time in school history.  The turnaround has been truly remarkable.

Coach Frasier has decided that it is time for him to focus on building other things again. He has resigned as the head football coach of the White County High School Warriors.  Coach Frasier has done a phenomenal job not only building a winning football program but shaping young men into people that will make an impact in their community. Frasier would quickly tell you that he had a great team of leaders around him.  Coach’s wife, Tricia, affectionately known as the “CEO,” put in almost as many hours as Coach Frasier each week, taking care of all the things that have to be done to keep a program going.

When asked for a statement, Coach Frasier said:

“When I was lucky enough to get this job, I said I would coach the four years that Bray would play.  It was a dream of mine to be the head coach here. I appreciate the opportunity.  I love this program and wanted to be able to sit in the stands and cheer on a competitive program.  With the hard work of the players and assistant coaches and a lot of talent, I think we’ve done that. I would love another shot at Nolensville, but unfortunately that’s not how sports work.  With the talent coming up and dropping to 4A where we should have been the last 30 years, hopefully this season is just the beginning of things to come. Thanks so much to the Sparta faithful for your support.”

Every good building project starts with a good foundation.  Coach Frasier has laid the foundation for someone else to build upon in the years ahead.  When you see coach around town, make sure to thank him for a job well done.  We are all thankful that he had the “want to” to make a difference.
