Mary Alma Hollingsworth Cole, 81, of Sparta, passed away June 16, 2021, in Cookeville.
Mrs. Cole was born May 5, 1940, in Sparta, to Claude Eston and Mary Emma Hollingsworth.
She was a member of Seventh Day Adventist Church of Sparta. She loved to play the piano, sew, and be creative at home. She was known for her cathead biscuits and potluck meals. Mrs. Cole loved to entertain, visit, and help friends and family. She was passionate about her faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Cole; daughter, LeeAnn Cole; and brothers, Claude Hollingsworth, Ike Hollingsworth, Bill Hollingsworth, John Hollingsworth, Rayburn Hollingsworth, and Keith Hollingsworth.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Carolyn Cole, of Hernando, Florida, Mary Elizabeth Thomas (Jeff), of Cookeville; granddaughter,
Rebecca Lynn Jones, of Sparta; grandson, Eston Joseph Howell (Roxann), of Sparta; and great-grandsons, Ethan and Caleb Jones.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., June 19, 2021, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m., June 18, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the church building fund.
