MyBigIdea! program returns this October to bring entrepreneurship to students in the Upper Cumberland. MyBigIdea! is a secondary school program powered by The Biz Foundry. This year we are excited to offer a variety of options. Due to social distancing in schools, the program is able to offer a virtual option this year. The first session is on Oct 24 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

MyBigIdea! is a 1-day program that teaches students to use creative thinking to resolve issues in their lives, their communities, and the world. The program also gives students the skills necessary to turn their creative solution into a business.

Participants in the program can compete for cash prizes at the MyBigIdea! Finale event. During the finale, students pitch their business ideas to a panel of judges. The winning ideas walk away with money.

MyBigIdea! is part of The Biz Foundry’s mission to support local small businesses. The organization also provides business resources, coworking spaces, and workshops to businesses, artists, and professionals in the Upper Cumberland.

Students, grades 7 - 12, can participate in the Saturday sessions either in-person or online through Zoom. The in-person sessions will be at The Biz Foundry’s Cookeville location located at 114 N Cedar Ave. As part of participation in the course, students will receive a MyBigIdea! Workbook to study and to work on other possible ideas in the future.

Students who wish to participate must register through the MyBigIdea! website at mybigidea.org/saturday by Oct. 20. For further information, please contact Tiffany Anton at tiffany@thebizfoundry.org
