At approximately 5:22 p.m., Jan. 24, 2022, North End Volunteer Fire Department received an assignment about a structure fire on Dustin Lane.

According to information released on North End’s Facebook page, Engine 703, Engine 702, and Tanker 705 responded to the scene, along with Cassville Volunteer Fire Department Tanker 502, with four personnel.

Upon arrival of Engine 703 and Tanker 705, the structure was about 60 percent engulfed in flames. North End Assistant Chief Derek Wilson took command of the scene. According to North End Volunteer Fire Department, an attack was made outside - from front and back side of the residence - to stop the fire from advancing. Once this was stopped, the attack continued outside until other firefighters arrived on the scene to assist.

Other agencies arriving were two personnel from Sparta Fire Department and one from Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department. Firefighters then moved operations to the inside of the structure. All fire was extinguished and all personnel cleared the scene.

North End Volunteer Volunteer Fire Department wants to thank White County Sheriff’s Office, White County Emergency Medical Service, Cassville Volunteer Fire Department, Sparta Fire Department, and the seven personnel from North End Volunteer Fire Department who responded to the scene.
