A two-vehicle crash that occurred Jan. 15, 2023, on Memorial Highway, in Sparta, has caused the death of one driver.
According to a preliminary report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, Rachel Weiss, 38, was driving a 2016 Ram 1500 and traveling westbound, on US 70 South (Memorial Highway) at the intersection of West Gooseneck Road.
Ianthisa Brimer, 78, was driving a 2003 Dodge Dakota and reportedly entered the intersection, failing to yield to oncoming traffic in the path of Weiss’ vehicle.
Weiss’ vehicle had damage to the front right side. Brimer’s vehicle had damage to the entire left side of the vehicle. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
Weiss was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. According to the report, Brimer was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash.
