Open auditions at CPAC

Auditions for Cookeville Performing Arts Center's next Backstage Series production, The Half-Life of Marie Curie, will be held Nov. 8 at 6:30 p.m. at CPAC, 10 E. Broad St. This play, set 1911-1914, delves into the friendship of two extraordinary women: Marie Curie, age 44, a brilliant, shrewd, private and patient scientist, and Hertha Ayrton, 57, a brazen, ambitious and fiercely intelligent engineer, inventor and suffragist.
