Patsy Lou Silvis Hudgens, better known as Pati, age 90, of Sparta, passed away March 29, 2025, at her residence.
Pati was born Oct. 29, 1934, in Ohio, Pennsylvania, to Donald Earles and Ruth Elizabeth Polliard Silvis.
Pati worked 30 years in customer service with United Airlines. Her employment with the airline gave her the opportunity to live in different parts of the United States as well travel extensively by air. She spent 19 years of her retirement years working at Sparta-White County Senior Citizens Center. Pati had a green thumb and loved to care for her flowers, especially orchids and has cared for the same bonsai tree since the 1960s. She was also an avid dancer and was a regular at The Barn and John Henry Demps' dance hall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Bonner Hudgens, who died April 2, 2000.
Survivors include her son, Miles Hudgens; companion of 14 years, Lonnie Vickers; nephews, Jimmy Miller, Tony Paz, Chris Paz; niece, Lisa Paz Mason; and extended family, Bonnie Zehm, Kanani and Scott Briggs and their sons Dominic and Riley, Jan Acdan and her children Kiai, Arynn and IkaIka Anoc, Mary-Jo Gallagher Hudgens, Dennis Griffin, and David Griffin.
Graveside service was 2 p.m., April 1, 2025, at Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Clarence Jared officiated.
Hunter Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
