On Dec. 19, Marty McFly, a Sparta native, and Deputy Purdy, of White County Sheriff’s Office, loaded up a truck full of holiday hams from Floyd’s Cash Saver Supermarket and visited residents in White County, delivering those hams.
The money was for the hams was raised by personal donations and a major donation from Snyder’s Tractor and Equipment. White County Sheriff’s Office, Sparta-White County YMCA, 94.7 The Country Giant, and RRP Truck Equipment and Signs all had a role in making this event possible.
“It was a night of hugs, heartfelt tears, and handshakes,” McFly said. “Everyone was so happy that Deputy Purdy stopped by and surprised them. Sheriff [Steve] Page made some deliveries as well in another part of the county. I look forward to working with our local law enforcement in 2025 to build bigger events and help this great community.”
