Richard Carl Peters was born July 1, 1939, in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, to Helen and James Peters, and passed away June 10, 2021.
He was the third of five siblings and grew up in Tuscon, Arizona, where he graduated from Tuscon High School. He worked for 25 years as a locksmith with the Tuscon Unified School District where he retired, in 1994.
Richard married the love of his life, Jane Peters, on Feb. 11, 1961, and they enjoyed 60 years of marriage together. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, and anything outdoors. He also loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Heavenly Host Lutheran Church, in Cookeville.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Helen and James, and a sister, Anita.
He is survived by his wife, Jane Heimbuch-Peters; children, Carl (Valery), Tim (Stacy), Sharon (Dennis); six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and three siblings.
Graveside service will be 3 p.m., June 12, 2021, at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Gerald Meyer and Keith Pickard will officiate. The family will receive friends 2-3 p.m., June 12, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
