Seventh grade Warriors win over DeKalb in overtime

On Dec. 9, the White County Middle School seventh grade Warriors and DeKalb County faced off in basketball action.  The game would not be decided at the end of regulation.

DeKalb County took a slim two-point lead at the end of one quarter.  The Warriors took a one-point lead heading into the intermission period at halftime.  The lead changed back to DeKalb as they led after three quarters 22-20.

The Warriors managed to tie the game at the end of the fourth quarter, 31-31.  The Warriors added eight points in the overtime period, and DeKalb kept it close but could only score seven points, giving the Warriors a 39-38 victory.

Tripp Pinion led the Warriors with 24 points and five coming in overtime.  Chase Stephens added six points and a three-pointer in the overtime period.  Jordan Brown, Lucas Dickerson, and Nathaniel Griffin added three points each in the win.  The Warriors were five of nine from the free-throw line.

The seventh grade Warriorettes lost their game to DeKalb County by a score of 33-22, on Dec. 9.

DeKalb led at the end of one quarter by a score of 11-7.  They led 19-11 at halftime.  The Warriorettes cut the lead at the end of three, with the score 24-19.  DeKalb finished off the win by a score of 33-22.

Lakelyn Grasty and Josie Williams led the Warriorettes with eight points each.  Marian Swindoll, Kennedy Billings, and Baylee Lane added two points each in the loss.  The Warriorettes were six of 12 from the free-throw line.
