Sheriff’s Office and Police Department help 5-year-old celebrate his birthday

A long line of patrol cars heading up a driveway is usually a sign of something amiss or a serious emergency - but not this time.

Five-year-old Grayson Roberts wants to a policeman when he grows up, and he has an obsession for all things police/sheriff related. For his birthday this year, the White County boy asked for a law enforcement themed party, and his parents were happy to oblige.

Bobby and Freddie Roberts, Grayson’s parents, took to Facebook to ask if a local police officer might drop by the party to surprise their son and make his birthday that much more special this year. They never expected the long line of officers, vehicles, and K-9 units that decided to make the party one to remember.

White County sheriff deputies and Sparta police officers shared the post to generate interest for those law enforcement officers who would be off duty that day.

To the Roberts’s surprise, 10 deputies, two K-9 officers, and several off-duty city officers stopped by the birthday party to wish Grayson a very happy birthday.

It was a surprise the 5-year-old will never forget.
