Sparta residents bring home trophies from Smith County Fair

Breanna Powell (pictured), of Sparta, took home first place in the Youth Derby Front Wheel Drive (ages 12-16) as well as the Mad Dog Award for making the hardest hit during the recent Smith County Fair Demolition Derby. Second place was taken by Jonathan Boswell (pictured), also off Sparta.

Jacque Powell, of Sparta, took home second place in the Powder Puff Derby as well as the Mad Dog Award. John Boswell took home first place in the V8 Stock Class as well as the Mad Dog Award. Second place in the V8 Class went to Michael Cantrell. Cantrell also took home second place in the Front Wheel Drive Modified Class as well as the Mad Dog Award. Four of the six hardest hitting awards were taken by Sparta drivers.
