Sparta/White County begins a new chapter for the 50-plus population

Sparta-White County Activity Center (formerly Sparta-White County Senior Center) is now open 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday-Friday.  The center is a multipurpose facility for men and women 50 years of age and older. The facility offers activities to meet the needs and interests of today’s active older adults. The center is located at 321 E. Bronson St., in Sparta. Call (931) 836-3663. Members of the board of directors are James Douglas, chairman; Robert McCormick, vice chair; Sheila Robinson, secretary; and Amy Bailey, treasurer. Advisory board members are Karen Lafever, Connie Leftwich, Barbara Lancaster, Jerry Lowery, Denny Wayne Robinson, Jim Floyd, and Shirley Scott.
