Stanton Kinnard, 82, of Sparta, passed away Nov. 7, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Kinnard was born April 17, 1939, in Sparta, to Willie Homer Kinnard and Elizabeth Johnson Kinnard.
He was a brick mason prior to founding Aqua Pools, in 1977, which he owned and operated until 2000. Mr. Kinnard was also a farmer and an incredibly active father for his son Stan - from sponsoring tee-ball teams to serving as Cub Scout den leader to helping him with school projects.
Mr. Kinnard proudly served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany on the Czechoslovakian border as part of a three-man crew with a Davy Crockett Weapon System.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, wife Joan Pitman Kinnard, who passed away Jan. 7, 2015; two daughters, Melonie and Dawn Kinnard; and two sisters, Maxine Allen and Ceba Ann Kinnard.
Survivors include his son, Stan Kinnard and wife Marcie; four grandchildren, Laney, Lilly, Levi ,and Lexi Kate Kinnard; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Nov. 10, 2021, at Hunter Funeral Home. Doug Benningfield will officiate. Burial, with full military honors by the Veterans’ Honor Guard, will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m., Nov. 9, at the funeral home.
Rhyn Brogden, Jason Goodwin, Mark Messenger, Chris Cravens, Jacob Williams, and Jason Powell will serve as pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers are Stanley Pitman, Jim Cravens, Bill Allen, and Stan Allen
