Teddy Keith Day, 78, of Sparta, passed away peacefully at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, in Nashville, with his son and his daughter at his side.

Teddy was born Aug. 16, 1943, in Sparta, to Pauline Walker Day and Casto Day.

Teddy studied piano at an early age. He was a great musician and played in several bands and traveled around the country playing keyboards. Teddy was also a published song writer. He owned Digi-Trax Studio where he mixed and mastered albums. He was also owner and hearing aid specialist of Sparta Hearing Aid Center. Teddy lived most of his adult life in Sparta. He loved the farm life and always had a great garden. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him - especially his family, friends and church family at Plainview Church of Christ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Pauline and Casto Day.

Survivors include his son, Darrell (Joanie) Day, of Estill Springs; daughter, Darla (Rod) Garrison, of Newnan, Georgia; and granddaughters, Samantha and Claire Garrison.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m., Jan. 9, 2022, at Plainview Church of Christ, with burial in Plainview Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 1-3 p.m., Jan. 9, at the church. The Rev. Darrell K. Day will be officiating, assisted by Minister Earl Alverson.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Sims, Don O'Connor, Charles Tolbert, Lynn Tolbert, Duke Davis, and Rafael Chavez.

Thurman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
