TTU hosts Spring Showcase

Tennessee Tech is geared up and ready to welcome newly admitted students to the university’s annual Spring Showcase, scheduled for Feb. 26 and March 5.

“Spring Showcase is a great event to get new students connected to both their colleges and professors,” said Tech’s Director of Admissions Steve Keller. “This event is exclusive for our admitted students, and they get to participate in hands-on activities, meet current Tech students and see why they are the perfect fit as future Golden Eagles.”

The Spring Showcase is split into two Saturdays with both days hosting all majors for admitted students. The event runs 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the main sessions taking place in the Roaden University Center. Registration is now closed for the February 26 date but is still open for March 5.

According to Keller, Spring Showcase helps new students stay connected to the university as they are finishing up their senior year of high school and gets them more comfortable with campus.

“It’s really important for students to make connections with both professors and other students in their majors,” said Keller. “This event lets them ask questions, explore campus and see what buildings they will be in for classes and labs.”

A sample itinerary for the day includes an interactive check-in resource fair, breakout sessions and activities in the students’ majors, as well as lunch.

Admitted students can still register for the March 5 Spring Showcase by visiting tntech.edu/springshowcase. Applications are also still open to attend Tech next fall. Interested students can apply by visiting tntech.edu/apply.

Tennessee Tech is ranked as a “Best National University” by U.S. News & World Report. The university offers more than 200-plus programs of study, and Tech grads leave with the least debt of all public universities in the state. In fact, based on total cost and alumni earnings, Tech provides students with the highest return on investment for any public university in Tennessee, according to PayScale.
