The week in review

The Right Stuff

We are now inside the 60-day countdown to election. I am hoping we all have registered to vote? Monday, Oct. 5, will be the deadline to register to vote in the presidential election. Now is the time to be checking with friends and neighbors and making sure they are registered to vote and intend to vote. Regular church attendees or members - please put a note or make mention in the service of the deadline for voter registration. It is not too late to appoint someone from the congregation to bring registration forms to every church meeting and make sure to get everyone registered. On the other hand, if there is no formal member appointed for the role, perhaps someone reading here could go by the courthouse, get and read and understand the voter registration forms, and start registering members of the congregation to vote! These forms are not hard to understand or fill out. They just basically require a few obvious ways to identify you as a legal voter. Nothing threatens the right to religious freedom more than the Democrats taking over nationally. If you have any doubt, just reference what the Democrat governors have done in several states in closing churches, in some cases even when they met in the parking lot out-of-doors!

Just when you think there can be no further news of Democrat/Obama/Biden corruption comes the news of a coverup among the Mueller Special Counsel Team. It seems that when the team turned in their government supplied phones, iPads, etc., they went to great lengths to wipe them clean. Yes, you read me correctly. Twenty- nine members of Mueller Special Counsel team wiped their devices clean prior to handing them back in to the government. We are not talking secretarial types here. We are talking high-priced lawyers and such. There is absolutely no way this could have happened accidentally as some of them claimed. Indeed, many of them used the same excuse (typing in their password too many times) as an explanation. Another question comes to mind regarding this little kerfuffle.  Why are we just now finding this out? It was the end of March 2019 that the Mueller Special Counsel called an end to their investigation, and we should think, handed in their equipment. Why is it that we are just now finding this out? This is building the fire under talk that Barr’s own special investigation into this corruption, headed by John Durham, must not be getting the goods on the criminal activity we have all observed. Remember, the statute of limitations is running while Dunham fiddles around. The longer it takes to bring indictments and convictions in these cases, the less likely convictions will occur. I grow increasingly anxious that all of these lawbreakers will somehow be swept aside in favor of “clearing the air” or some other hackneyed phrase that sounds good and means nothing. The rule of law in the United States of America means nothing if it doesn’t apply to our own government because it is there where the most dangerous criminal activity occurs!

Moving on, we saw a much toned down remembrance this week of the horror of the 9/11 19-year mark. I must wonder as I see that event slowly slipping from our collective memory, if we remember ANY of what transpired there? How can it be that just 19 years later, we are treating our police officers in such a terrible way, wounding, maiming, and killing them when they go about their work trying to protect us? On 9/11, New York lost 71 police officers and 343 firemen. These were people running toward the scene of devastation in an attempt to help their fellow citizens. How can it be we have so quickly turned on them and treated them so horribly? In the past, we used to say “Remember 9/11” when we thought the government was cozying up to the elements of radical Islam. But now we should ask, do we remember 9/11 when we see frozen water bottles, bricks, and worse flying through the air in the midst of the Democrats’ “peaceful protests.” Do we honor the memory of those 71 police officers and 343 firefighters that charged into that building trying to save lives? There were no reports of those policemen or firefighters caring whether the person they saved was black or white, young or old, male or female. Do the inheritors of that day in the police department deserve the treatment they have been given in far too many Democrat-run cities? I think not.

Finally, we come to the California fires. Long ago, the Sierra Club (among others) talked endlessly of “untouched nature.” While I am sure they meant well, leaving the forests without any management under the guise of letting them “go natural” has given California many thousands of acres of forestland with all the deadwood from thousands of trees laying there, just waiting for a match. If they had not gone so extreme and had instead managed their forests, many homes would still be standing. Think of all of the lives that could have been saved, all of the destruction avoided! You know, many years ago Will Rogers said, “We got men running the country that shouldn’t even be allowed to play with matches.” I thought of that quote when I saw the governor of California standing amidst the smoking remnants of a California forest somewhere talking about the terrible effects of climate change! I often wonder why so many crazy folks all ended up in California! The land of fruits and nuts!  Finally, have you noticed how the polls are “tightening?” Didn’t we say this would happen months ago? Always remember, many pages of negative news will be delivered, all in an attempt to dishearten voters and keep them from the polls. Don’t be confused; we are the winners in this election! Until next week then…
