2015

  • The White County High School Marching Band participated in the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, in Savannah, Georgia.
  • Kordell Henderson, a White County High School senior, was selected to play in the BCAT/TACA East-West All Star Basketball Game.
  • LIFE FORCE received the Advance Life Support Service of the Year Award.

2005

  • Houston Austin was honored as Young Citizen of the Year at The Expositor’s annual awards ceremony. Becky Tubb was named Volunteer of the Year and Kim Luna was named teacher of the year. Eddie Stewart and Ben Holland were honored as Unsung Heroes.
  • A kickoff celebration was held for the new Imagination Library program. Attendees were treated to a puppet show and a visit from Governor’s Books from Birth Foundation Claiborne Gayden and Dollywood Foundation Regional Director Christy Clouse.
  • Bob Miller was named regional president for Citizens Bank, in Sparta.

1995

  • The Warriorettes made their sixth consecutive quest for a trip to the state tournament.
  • White County received nearly $1.5 million in UCHRA funds. The majority would go to daycare programs in the county.
  • WCHS announced that Brandy Maelyn Copeland was the 1995 valedictorian and Amber Paige Clark was the salutatorian.

1985

  • White County High School announced their valedictorian, Brenda Kay Newman, and their salutatorian, Brian Thomas Henry.
  • Dr. Charles Mitchell and Robert Agee announced they would be seeking re-election, and Tim Kentner announced he would be seeking election to the Sparta Board of Aldermen.
  • White County High School student Lorie Mills won first place in the Upper Cumberland Art Society High School Art Contest.

1975

  • The Stonehouse Restaurant, on the corner of South Young and Maple streets held its grand opening.
  • Ernest Thompson and Henry Foster announced their candidacies for aldermen for the City of Sparta.
  • As the steel beams were erected daily, the new White County Courthouse began to take shape.
