1973
- The County voted to build a new courthouse equally over $1 million dollars in costs.
- Springfield Firm submitted the lowest bid for the new Sparta-White County Airport.
- In the spring of 1973, 31 White Countians graduated from Tennessee Tech University.
1983
- Ann Warren, a vocational office and business education teacher at Cleveland High School, received Teacher of the Year.
- James Randolph gained a new friend with the help of White County Lions Club and the Leader Dog program.
- The “Tennessee Stars” became the Southeastern Regional Winners and prepared for the U.S. National Tournament in Kansas City, Kan.
1993
- The graduating class of 1993 received over 400,000 in scholarships.
- White County High School Special Olympics team took home numerous medals at the State Competition.
- In 1993, the city of Doyle received a grant for their fire department.
2003
- The Sparta Lions club donates to the children’s eye center at Vanderbilt Hospital.
- Bethel Free Will Baptist Church Youth Choir brought home a 2nd place trophy from the Youth Rally.
- Jared Austin received the prestigious citizenship award for his outstanding performance within the community.
