Tickets now available for TSSAA championship games in Cookeville

With Tennessee high school football now in the midst of semi-finals, the anticipation builds as the Upper Cumberland region awaits the arrival of 18 teams from across the state for the 2019 BlueCross Bowl, set for Dec. 5-7 at Tennessee Tech’s Tucker Stadium in Cookeville.

Approximately 30,000 guests are expected over the three-day event, with players, coaches, band members, cheer/dance teams, and of course, fans and families descending upon the region’s hub city to experience nine games of high-energy high school football.

Local residents from around the Upper Cumberland are encouraged to join in the fun, whether as a spectator or, to truly get into the action, sign up as a volunteer. The event, led by the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau for the eleventh year, requires nearly 750 volunteers to effectively facilitate.

Tickets are now available for the games for $12 each, granting one-day admission (three games). Those purchasing 10 tickets or more, receive a discounted price of only $10 each.

Many area businesses and industries are purchasing discounted tickets during the giving season to provide to their customers, clients, and staff.

“We also have some local residents purchase ten or more to give as gifts to family and friends,” said Zach Ledbetter, vice president of visitor development. “By purchasing tickets, it not only helps to support these players during a milestone moment in their lives, but also shows the support and athletic hospitality of our community and region, a characteristic leading TSSAA to continue awarding us hosting privileges since 2009.”

Tickets can be purchased at ROADTOCOOKEVILLE.COM or at the Cookeville-Putnam County Visitors’ Bureau, located inside the Leslie Town Centre (1 W. First Street, Cookeville, TN 38501).
