As the Tennessee Tech football team opens up its home portion of the 2021 schedule on Saturday, Sept. 11, against Furman, it will also be a special weekend for Tech students and their families to reconnect and see the campus as the game is penciled in as the annual Family Weekend contest.

“We’re excited to welcome families to campus during Family Weekend 2021!,” said Allen Mullis, Tech’s Executive Director for Student Success. “This weekend is a great opportunity to visit our campus, see what students and our colleges are doing inside and outside of the classroom, and cheer on our Golden Eagle football team. For our new students and their families, the weekend gives them a chance to explore events and programs on campus and around Cookeville. Events are being planned and will be shared on our Family Weekend website. For details and more information, visit www.tntech.edu/familyweekend.”

The Paladins out of the Southern Conference finished 3-4 in the spring campaign, claiming wins over Western Carolina, Samford and East Tennessee State. As a team, Furman rushed for 1,111 yards, while throwing for 1,263 for a balanced offensive attack.

Defensively, Furman allowed 127.1 rushing yards and 196.29 passing yards per game, while forcing seven fumbles and eight interceptions, collecting seven sacks for 43 yards.
