TTU women's basketball cancels a second game

Second announcement within two hours

Hours after hearing word that their season opener at Vanderbilt had been canceled, the Tennessee Tech women’s basketball team also announced that their November 29 game at Chattanooga has also been canceled.

The program is hard at work trying to add games to their schedule to replace the two displaced games and prepare the team for their December 3rd Ohio Valley Conference opener at Jacksonville State.

With the ongoing pandemic, the schedule will continue to be subject to change. The NCAA and the OVC have passed down guidelines that Tech plans to follow through the course of the 2020-21 campaign, including limited and spaced seating.

Vanderbilt canceled its November 25th matchup, noting ‘a lack of available student-athletes as a result of quarantining individuals with positive COVID tests and those designated as close contacts, along with injuries.”

Chattanooga paused its team activities on Tuesday for a two-week quarantine, canceling its first two games of the season at Tennessee State and in its home facility against the Golden Eagles.

Schedule updates will be available through Tech’s social media channels and on TTUsports.com

Season tickets for Tech basketball are on sale. Call (931) 372-3940, visit TTUsports.com or drop by the Hooper Eblen Center to order.
