A two-vehicle crash this past weekend left two subjects injured.
According to a preliminary report from Tennessee Highway Patrol, at approximately noon, on April 15, 2023, Bruce D. Colvin, 57, of Tennessee, was driving a 2003 Toyota Tacoma. His passenger was 49-year-old Melissa Colvin. Both Bruce Colvin and Melissa Colvin were wearing seatbelts, and both were injured.
Timothy E. Hawkins, 40, of Tennessee, was driving a 2015 Dodge R25. His passenger was 29-year-old Kayla B. Hawkins. Neither Timothy Hawkins nor Kayla B. Hawkins were injured. They were not wearing seatbelts, according to the report. There was also a 10-year-old passenger in the Hawkins vehicle who was restrained in a booster seat. The juvenile passenger was not injured.
According to the report, Colvin was traveling north on US 70S, in White County, on the off-ramp, coming from State Route 111. Hawkins was traveling north on US 70S in lane two. Reportedly, Colvin made an improper turn left to travel south on State Route 111. Hawkins’ vehicle struck Colvin’s vehicle on the driver’s side.
