Virginia Laverne Cunningham, 67, of the Johnson Chapel community of DeKalb County, passed away March 22, 2021, at her residence.
Mrs. Cunningham was born on July 25, 1953, in Smithville, to Bill Luna and Nancy Gracy Luna.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Bruce Cunningham; and two brothers, Harold Luna and Gene Luna.
She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include her daughter, Renee Cunningham, of Sparta; three sons, Bruce Cunningham and wife Sherril, of Smithville, Gene Cunningham, John Cunningham and wife Rebecca, all of Sparta; seven grandchildren and spouses, Gene Cunningham, Traci and Ben Gard, Josh and Amanda Cunningham, Rachel and Matt Buchanan, Kevin and Dashia Cunningham, Chelsie and Kenneth Colwell, Megan Cunningham; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Bill Luna and wife Ruby, of Tullahoma; and one sister, Christine Hopkins, of Winchester.

Funeral service was 1 p.m., March 26, 2021, at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home, in Smithville, with burial in Old Zion Cemetery. Bro Elmore Judd and John Cunningham officiated.
