“Several months ago, the Waffle House Corporation reached out to the City of Sparta with interest in bringing a location to our town — and we’re now proud to announce that a Waffle House restaurant is coming to Sparta,” Sparta Mayor Jerry Lowery said.
Plans have been approved, and the new restaurant will be located on the former Sonic lot beside Citizens Bank, on Bockman Way.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to grow our community in ways that serve our citizens and support local jobs,” Lowery said. “Bringing Waffle House to Sparta does just that. It adds something new and exciting to our local landscape, while also giving people another great place to work and gather.”
This addition will bring valuable job opportunities for local residents — from cooks and servers to management roles. The 24/7 service will also provide a much-needed option for night shift workers and early risers, ensuring there’s always a warm meal available, no matter the hour.
Mayor Lowery added, “One of the things I appreciate most about Waffle House is that it’s more than just a restaurant — it becomes part of the community. It’s a place where neighbors meet, where stories are shared, and where folks can feel at home.”While there is not yet a confirmed construction timeline, the approved plans are at city hall. The City of Sparta is currently awaiting the start of construction and will provide updates as the project progresses.
“We’re excited for what this means for our city,” Lowery said. “Good things are happening in Sparta, and this is just one more sign of the growth and positive momentum we’re experiencing. Stay tuned, Sparta — good things are cooking!”
