Wanda Winstead Moore, 82, of Antioch, passed away May 20, 2023, at Alive Hospice Residence, in Nashville.

She was born March 2, 1941, in Walling, to Quill and Eula Swindell Winstead.

Wanda graduated from White County High School and Tennessee Technological University, in Cookeville. After college, she was a professor of home economics at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. She then transitioned to the Tennessee Department of Human Services, where she served the state for 41 years. After retiring, she was contracted by the Davidson County Child Support Office and the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Wanda was an intelligent and hardworking woman who would do anything to improve the lives of others. She loved shopping, traveling, and spending time with her daughter and granddaughter. Everything she did in life was for her family. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her sister, Delpha Mason.  

Surviving family members include her daughter, Shelley Moore, of Antioch; granddaughter, Ella Rose Pitts; sister, Juanita Jacobs (Stan), of Portland, Oregon; nieces, Melissa Quick, Tammy Wilson, Tracy Jacobs; and nephews, Roger Mason Jr., Tony Jacobs, and Todd Jacobs

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., May 27, 2023, at Oak lawn Funeral Home, with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Roger Mason will officiate. The family will receive 10 a.m.-1 p.m., May 27, at the funeral home.
