WCMS Warriors wrap up conference play

Posted

The White County Middle School Warrior baseball team ended conference play Thursday night (4/13/23) with a loss to Algood. The stunning loss cost the Warriors first place in the conference. Just two days prior, the Warriors handled the Redskins easily, defeating them 11-3. In that game, the Warriors were led offensively by Eli Smith going 3 for 3 at the plate followed by Carter Seal who went 2 for 3. Griffin Adams, Kaden Seibers, and Tucker Pinion also recorded a hit. The Warriors used three pitchers (Kaden Seibers, Cole Sims, and Tucker Pinion) who held the Redskins to 4 hits and only 2 earned runs. Thursday’s game saw the Warriors hit the ball hard, but right at Redskin defenders who played an errorless game which proved to be the difference. The Warriors made 4 errors on the night and just couldn’t get a break, losing 0-6.

Ending conference play with a 6-2 record, the Warriors will go into the conference tournament as a #2 seed. The tournament is slated to be played the week ending 4/29/23. The Warriors are 11-5 on the season with four regular-season games remaining.
