The White County High School administration proudly announces the top 2 graduates for the 2023-2024 class. These two students have excelled both in the classroom and extra- curricular activities. Their achievements have been critical to the success of this year’s graduating class—the remarkable academic success and leadership these two young women have given the WCHS Class of 2024 is memorable.

The 2023-2024 salutatorian is Alivia Jones, the daughter of Jeff and Lori Jones. Alivia stated about her achievement, “It is truly an honor to be salutatorian of the class of 2024. After four years of trying my best to succeed, I will say that it is not having a title that made it all worth it. I found purpose in what it means to work hard and have values. It has also taught me to ask for help, furthermore allowing me to create bonds and gain friendships.”

Alivia will be graduating with state honors, distinction, Hope scholarship eligible, Ready Grad, graduating Summa Cum Laude, and has completed courses for college credit through Motlow State. She is a member of the Beta Club, Poetry Club, Bible Club, and the Interact Club. She is active in her church. She also enjoys hiking, reading, dancing, singing, and drawing. She will attend Lee University in Cleveland, TN, in the fall and major in Psychology.

The 2023-2024 valedictorian is Hannah Austin, the daughter of Paul and Stacy Austin. Hannah stated the following about being the top graduate for her class, “Being valedictorian means I have the honor and privilege to represent the academic achievements of myself and my classmates. While being valedictorian is a personal achievement that I am undoubtedly grateful for, it also highlights the support of my peers, teachers, and family, who have all played crucial roles in my academic journey.”

Hannah is graduating with state honors, also has met all four benchmarks of the ACT, earned an industry certification (OSHA 10), graduated Summa Cum Laude, Ready Grad, TN Tristar Scholar, and has maintained a 4.0 GPA. She has also passed the SCD Pre-Calculus and AP Language and Composition exams and completed six dual enrollment courses through Motlow Sate. She has volunteered with the WCHS FFA and is a member of the International Club and Bible Club. She enjoys working hard and helping others. She will attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in the fall and major in Psychology.

Both students will be featured speakers, on May 13, 2024, in the 2024 graduation ceremony. The ceremony will be held at the WCHS Football Stadium. Please join us in celebrating all graduating seniors on this special occasion.
