WCHS JROTC receives donation

Posted

On Nov. 1, 2022, the White County High School JROTC was recognized by Lite Rock 95.9 and Swallows Insurance with a $500 grant. The grant was given under the Swallows Ensures Success grant program which recognizes public school educators who are trying to make a difference in the lives of the students and impact the school and community in which they are located. Lt. Col. Aaron Johnson and Sgt. First Class Jason Moore plan to use the $500 to purchase new equipment for the JROTC Color Guard. The Color Guard is truly the face of the WCHS JROTC and have promoted the program by professionally presenting the National Colors at WCHS home football and basketball games and a Tennessee Tech home football game. They have led the Battalion in parades, in Sparta, and supported various opportunities within the White County community. The Color Guard’s most prestigious performance was presenting the Colors at a Nashville Predators’ hockey game.
