White County Warriors traveled to Chattanooga, on Aug. 16, 2024, to participate in a jamboree held at University of Tennessee Chattanooga’s Finley Stadium, where, after a lengthy rain delay, the Warriors finally were able to take the field.
“Overall, it was a great experience for our kids to play tough competition and compete in a college football stadium,” Warriors’ head coach Curtis Beaty said. “It was a good thing for our team in our final game like preparation for the start of the season.
Beaty also said he was pleased with the effort and physicality the Warriors’ defense showed. Their aggressiveness resulted in the Warriors’ defensive unit scoring a safety on the first play of the jamboree. The Warriors’ offense was efficient and showed spurts of explosive ability with Cole Sims, Isaiah Kelso, and JoJo Dowell all running downhill, while the line played very physical up front.
“I’m excited to be at Dee Harris [Field] to kick off the year this Friday night!” Beaty said about the start of the Warriors regular season, which will take place at 7 p.m., Aug. 23 as the Warriors host Silverdale.
