The White County Middle School Warriors and the visiting Tullahoma Wildcats had to endure a long weather delay, on Sept. 1, to get the conference game underway.

The Warriors came out strong by taking their first drive of the night to paydirt.  Nathaniel Griffin found the endzone in sloppy conditions with a six-yard run to cap off the drive.  Quarterback Tripp Pinion kept the ball moving up the middle for the extra point conversion.  The Warriors led 8-0 very early in the ball game.

After the defense held for both sides, Tullahoma fumbled the ball back to the Warriors.  Pinion then found the endzone for the second score of the night for the Warriors.  The extra point was no good and Sparta led 14-0.

Pinion once again led the Warriors down the field and scored making the score 22-0, with just over three minutes left to play in the half.

Tullahoma scored their first touchdown with an eight-yard play at the 2:33 mark in the second quarter.  Tullahoma’s onside kick was successful and took the ball and scored, with 1:35 left before halftime.  The score at the half is 22-14, with the Warriors leading.

Tullahoma took the ball in the third quarter and closed the gap by scoring a long pass for a touchdown.  The conversion was no good, and the Warriors held a slim two-point lead.  Tullahoma moved down the field and moved the ball to the Warrior four-yard line.  The defense forced a fumble when David Roberson jarred the ball loose, and the Warriors took over.  The Warriors went into victory formation to seal the game away.

Pinion led the WCMS Warriors, with 14 carries for 102 yards and two touchdowns.   Nathaniel Griffin carried seven times for 48 yards and one touchdown.  T.J. Dodd led the defense with seven tackles and two fumble recoveries.  Max Baker had five tackles in the win.

The final score ended 22-20, with the Warriors winning and remaining undefeated.  The WCMS Warriors are now 3-0 on the season.
