WCMS seventh grade basketball

The seventh grade Warriorettes moved their record to 1-0 on the season.  They defeated Avery Trace by a score of 26-5.  The Warriorette defense did not allow Avery Trace to score a single point in the second half of the game.  Ava Jones led with 14 points.  Josie Williams scored six points.  Marion Swindell, Kennedy Billings, and Hannah Poteet scored two points each in the win.  The Warriorettes went eight  for 10 from the free throw line.

The second game of the season saw Pine Haven defeat the Warriorettes in a close matchup.  Pine Haven took the win 26-23 over the Warriorettes.  The Warriorettes’ defense held the Pine Haven team scoreless in the third quarter but could not overcome the lead.  Ava Jones led the team with 12 points.  Catherine Gottlied had five points.  Marion Swindell and Baylee Lane scored two points each.  Kennedy Billings and CallieAnn Griggs put in one point each.

The seventh grade Warriorettes got back on their winning ways and moved their record to 3-1 on the season after beating Warren County seventh grade by a score of 34-14.  Kennedy Billings and Josie Williams led the team with eight points each.  Baylee Lane and Ava Jones scored four points each.  Marian Swindell and CallieAnn Griggs scored three points, and Breanna Powell put in one point to finish out the scoring.  Alexis Verdel and Zoe Verge led Warren County with four points.
