WCMS sixth grade basketball defeats Algood

The sixth grade Warriorettes and Warriors took to the Nov. 7 to take on Algood.  Both teams came out as winners in the contest.  In the first game of the night, the Warriorettes beat Algood by a score of 32 to 24.  Bella Winningham and Hannah Haley each combined for nine points to lead the Warriorettes.  Gracie Clark added seven points.  Chole Anderson scored four points.  Lilly Parker scored two points, and Addison Dodgen added one point in the win.  The team went to the free-throw line 11 times and made only four.

In the boys’ match up, the outcome was the same.  The Warriors won by a score of 37-28.  Davion Brown led the Warriors with seven points.  Mason Steele and Kealan Young had six points. Rhett Underwood scored five points.  Xavior Gamblin had four points.   Daygon Phillips had three points.  Jonathan Lohorn, J.G. Wallace, and Ashton Randolph each scored two points in the win.  The team went 0 for 3 from the free-throw stripe.  Algood’s Ty Harrison led his team with 17 points.
