WCMS Warriorettes advance to sectional finals

The White County Middle School Warriorettes played Dickson County in the sectional semifinals and came away victorious, with a 36-24 win.

It is said that defense wins championships.  The White County WCMS Warriorettes had one of their best defensive efforts of the year.  Dickson County had a post player that was 6 feet tall, so it took a team effort to deny her the ball.

The Warriorettes used a full court press for the majority of the game and stole the ball 17 times from Dickson County.

Lakelyn Grasty and Gracie Clark led the team in scoring, with 10 points apiece. Bella Winningham followed closely behind, with 7 points.

The WCMS Warriorettes will now face TW Hunter on their home court, at 5:30 p.m., Feb. 7. The winner of this game will advance to the final four of the state.
